We manufacture compressed earth block presses — machines that turn “dirt” into building blocks — designed for the environmentally-conscious builder who knows and appreciates the warmth, beauty and the graceful lines of earthen structures. Starting a decade ago with the basic “Cinva Ram” -style machine, we’ve gradually refined and improved our design to make block production faster, easier and less labor intensive. Best of all, our block presses are competitively priced and affordable for do-it-yourself homebuilders.

What’s New at Fernco

Engineering News At long last, we've devised a machine to produce a 6" x 12" block with two holes in it. The impetus and inspiration for this machine came from Raymond Irving-Bell in Guatemala, whom we owe great thanks for his patience and determination. The holes in the block are 2-1/2" in diameter, allowing the insertion of reinforcing bar into the wall. Several pictures of this machine are now posted in the Library/Photos section. This modification will be available for the AH-612, AH-1014 and the corresponding GPH/DPH/EPH machines.


Another engineering change was made this month to correct a problem with block height of the MP-612. The handle's pivot point was lowered slightly to produce a block exactly 3-1/2" thick.
